Eva Green joins Netflix's Wednesday season 3: Ophelia Frump

Eva Green joins Netflix's Wednesday season 3 as Ophelia Frump, Morticia Addams’s sister. Filming is underway, promising a darker, more delirious new chapter.

Eva Green has officially joined the cast of the third season of one of Netflix’s most popular series, Wednesday. She will play Ophelia Frump, Morticia Addams’s sister and the very same mysterious blonde in red who, in the second season’s finale, left a blood-red message saying that Wednesday had to die.

According to the character description, Ophelia is a raven with formidable psychic abilities. She escaped from a psychiatric hospital where her own mother had sent her. Blonde hair, a crown of flowers, and open disdain for her niece shape a figure that stands in sharp contrast to Morticia’s gothic poise.

For Green, it’s a return to the dark, mystical atmosphere that earned her acclaim in Penny Dreadful. The project also reunites her with Tim Burton after Dark Shadows. With Wednesday’s second season among the platform’s most-watched shows and the first still the undisputed leader, expectations for the next chapter are understandably high.

Filming is already underway, and judging by the new character’s aesthetic, the third season is poised to push into even darker, more delirious territory — a casting choice likely to keep the entertainment crowd buzzing for quite a while.

It looks like viewers should brace for a genuinely shadowy turn in Wednesday’s story.
